During the International Social Work Congress (CIFEST), held from April 17th to 19th, professors Teresa Gijón and Belén Morata García de la Puerta from the University of Granada, and Gaetano Gucciardo from the University of Palermo, presented two communications outlining the progress made in the European project known as Global ANSWER or RISE-2019-Global-ANSWER 872209, a project funded by the European Commission and led by the University of Granada.
The researchers have outlined some advances of the project related to the collaborative methodological process they will apply to construct the concept of best practices in the field of social work and human mobility. Special emphasis was placed on the difficulties in conceptualizing and implementing a model of social innovation in professional practice with migrants and international protection seekers.
The interventions took place in the "Research and transfer from social work. Applied Solutions" workshop group, dedicated to examining the diversity and complexity of current contexts.
Furthermore, this group emphasized the commitment within the social work profession and its contribution to building effective responses that guarantee rights, in order to address the challenges faced by migrant populations and international protection seekers in host societies.
This represents a significant advancement for the project, demonstrating gradual progress towards the stated objectives, stemming from multidisciplinary and international collaboration in the pursuit of best practices.
