Gaetano Gucciardo is a researcher and professor of sociology at the University of Palermo. Currently, his research focuses on social capital, trust, inequality, violence against women, and immigration.
He is one of the collaborators at the University of Palermo who contributes to the Global Answer project, providing a much more realistic and non-academic perspective on the immigration situation in Italy.
Among his publications are works such as "Child Welfare Systems and Immigrant Children: An International Cross-sectional Study through Policies and Practices" edited by Marit Skivenes, Ravinder Barn, Katrin Kri, Tarja Pösö, and a review of "Roots, Discrimination, and Gender Narratives in the Mediterranean" edited by I. Bartholini, published by Franco Angeli, Milan, 2016, pp. 240; along with other academic works.
